Disney Faces Boycott Following Elon Musk Comments to CEO
In recent weeks, Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and X, has found himself embroiled in a controversy stemming from posts on his platform. Numerous platforms have declared their decision to halt advertising on this social media network. Consequently, one of the most prominent brands involved is encountering resistance.
In a targeted response, Disney is now confronting a boycott following Elon Musk’s explicit altercation with its CEO, Bob Iger. Musk, known for his outspoken stance, didn’t mince words as he addressed companies exiting the platform. Speaking to the New York Times’ Andrew Ross Sorkin, the SpaceX CEO delivered a blunt “go f–k yourself” to advertisers.

However, Musk explicitly singled out Iger in his tirade against the alleged blackmail efforts. “Hey Bob [Iger], if you are in the audience. That’s how I feel, don’t advertise,” he declared. Following this, Musk asserted that users were already participating in a boycott of Disney services.
The implicated advertisers include global brands such as Paramount, Apple, IBM, and, notably, Disney. However, a substantial number of users have flocked to X to validate the ongoing boycott. “Canceled” is currently trending on the platform, with thousands affirming their decision to abandon Disney+.
